4-3 Win in Game 2 Gives Kings Series Stranglehold
A powerplay goal off the stick of Donald Gaudreault with 10:38 remaining in the third period ended up the game winner Wednesday and helped the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings to a 2-0 series lead in a best-of-five quarterfinal playoff against the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks.
The Kings won the game 4-3 and have a chance to sweep the series when the two teams meet at the Crosslink County Sportsplex in Clairmont on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on Eastlink tv!
In the B.C. city last night, the Canucks made it interesting when Jordan Rea, with his second of the game, scored at 12:04 to make it a one-goal game, but the Kings hung on for the win.
Joel Wamsteeker, Tyrone Kipling and Taylor Lileikis also scored for the Kings while Mark Readman had the other DC goal.
Andy Gilker tended the GPC net facing 36 shots while the Kings fired 39 at Josh Round at the other end.
The Players Bench Lounge is always open for dinner and a beverage before puck drop as well as during the game.
Remember, team sponsorships are available for the playoff games and next season as well as game day sponsors and series title sponsors by contacting us via email or you can call 780-518-7419. We would love to come out and meet with you. With the majority of our players being from the Peace Country it is a great place to show your support. Without local sponsorship, volunteers and fan support we would not be able to survive and the kids would leave the peace country to play.
