JDA Kings host Vipers

October 16, 2012

The Grande Prairie JDA Kings are back in action tonight at the Coca Cola Centre for a rare Tuesday night game when they host the visiting Sexsmith Vipers.

After a weekend off of hockey the Kings are looking to continue their winning ways and stretch their lead to 8 points and improve to a perfect 7 and 0 in the Northwest Junior Hockey League with a win over Sexsmith. Grande Prairie however is coming off possibly their closest match of the season with Fort St. John and according to Head Coach Kyle Chapple have had poor starts in the past handful of games. The JDA Kings know they can’t afford another slow start like they did against the Huskies and have to expect another hard nosed physical game against the Sexsmith Vipers.

After securing three straight wins awhile back the Vipers have found themselves on the opposite side of the spectrum losing two straight in the past week and a half. Looking for their fourth straight and sole possession of second place Sexsmith fell to the Slave Lake Wolves before dropping their second straight to the Fairview Flyers this past Friday night.

Both teams have already met once this season in the 2012 – 2013 NWJHL Regular season opener with the JDA Kings walking away with a 12 to 0 victory but both clubs have already had a few additions and subtractions from each roster so one should expect not to see another 12 to 0 game tonight.

Be sure to join us tonight at the Coca Cola Centre beginning at 8:00 pm for tonights NWJHL action between the Sexsmith Vipers and Grande Prairie JDA Kings.
