Kings Dull Blades 10-2
The Kings took on the Beaverlodge Blades at the Crosslink County Sportsplex last night and were a little dull out of the gates to start the game. There wasn’t a lot of emotion or intensity in the early part of the contest however JDA was still able to jump out to an early 3-0 on goal from Taylor Lileikis, Joel Wamsteeker shorthanded and Kelsey Bauman in the final minute. Goaltender Jeremi Blais stopped all 13 shots he faced in the period.
Donald Gaudreault made it 4-0 5 minutes into the second period which didn’t show much change of intensity until Kevin Henley was awarded a penalty shot at 8:13 of the middle frame as a Blades player covered the puck with his hand in the goal crease. At the same stoppage the Blades also took a bench minor arguing the decision and that gave the Kings the chance to blow the game open. They took advantage as Henley sniped low blocker on the Penalty Shot and Wyatt Lawrence tapped one in on the ensuing power play to give the home side a 6 goal lead. After Brody Tofteland of the Blades jumped Kelsey Bauman JDA’s Tyrone Kipling buried another PP marker. Brock Clements made it 8-0 before Devon Moulds broke the shutout for Jeremi Blais before the period would end.
In the third the Kings would add markers from Zach Bennett and Joel Wamsteeker with his second on the PP sandwiched around former King Evan Tordiff’s nice individual effort for the Blades making the final score 10-2 for the County of GP. Wamsteeker and Henley each had 4 point nights for the home team. Natahn Needham stopped 47 of 57 shots in the Beaverlodge net as Blais turned aside 29 shots.
The CGP JDA Kings next home action is Saturday night at 8pm when they host the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks. Gametime is 8pm at the Crosslink County Sportsplex. We look forward to seeing everyone at our last game before the Christmas holidays.
