The Grande Prairie JDA Kings won their 5th straight to open the season with a 4-1 win last night in Beaverlodge versus the Blades.

The Blades opened the scoring 6:40 in, but the Kings came back with 4 unanswered goals – the first 3 on the power play, for the victory. Corey Wamsteeker led the way with 2 goals, Jared Burnett had 2 assists, and Daniel Bishop & Lyndin Lewis both had a goal each. Kings goaltender Connor Goudreau had 17 saves on 18 goals, and the game was held relatively close by Blades goaltender Dylan Quinn stopping 35 of 39.

Kings next game is back home at the Coke Centre at 8:30pm Tuesday October 15th, with the re-rescheduled game hosting the Sexsmith Vipers from the previous Tuesday, that was cancelled due to a power outage in the southern part of Grande Prairie.

Happy Thanksgiving and hope to see you out Tuesday to watch your hometown team back on the ice!
