Kings Moving On After Battle with the Pups
Your JDA Kings once again last night were gracious hosts and spotted the Ft. St. John Huskies a one goal lead at 4:31 of the first period at the noisy County Sportslex Pat’s Auto Rink last night but this time Corey Wamsteeker wasn’t interested in trailing and replied thirteen seconds later to even the game at 1. The teams battled back and forth as they have all series but this time the Kings took the lead at 5:54 of the second period on a Lyndin Lewis tally. Lewis leads the league in playoff points. The game remained 2-1 for the home team through the 2nd intermission. However once again it seemed the third period is always the Kings best period as they carried the play and scored four times to put the game out of reach and book their ticket into the league championship series to defend their title. Third period goals came from Corey Wamsteeker, Lyndin Lewis their 2nd of the game respectively along with Sheldon Mcarthur and Ryan Trudeau. Tyler Moffatt was once again solid in between the pipes for the Kings and the captain Devin Bell returned from his 2 game suspension and was solid as usual.
The Kings get to rest and heal some injuries after almost 6 games in seven nights while awaiting their next opponent which will be the North Peace Navigators or the Fairview Flyers. The Navigators took a 3-2 series lead last night with a 5-2 win in Peace River. Game 6 goes Saturday night in Fairview.
The Kings organization would like to congratulate the Huskies on a great hard fought series and a great season.
On another note it was great to see injured King Mitch Stordy at the rink last night after being injured in FSJ in Game 2 of the series. He is out for the season.
The Kings organization is also thinking of 2 other members of the Kings family, Parker & Al Mcphillamey.
