Kings open Season with 5-3 Victory!

Your County of GP JDA Kings opened the season Saturday night looking sharp in their brand new third jerseys and downing the visiting Fairview Flyers by a score of 5-3. Rookie Donald Goudreault opened the scoring in the first period and the Kings carried the momentum to a 3-0 lead early in the second period. However the visitors would carry the play in the second half of the second period and closed the gap to 3-2. Kelsey Bauman scored at 12:53 of the third period to give the Kings a two goal lead. The Flyers pulled their goalie and pulled to within one with :58 seconds remaining but Ryan Trudeau iced the victory with an empty net goal from his own blue line. Trudeau and C. Wamsteeker both led the way with three points for the Kings with Andy Gilker making 30 saves in net for the win. Last seasons NWJHL Rookie of the year had a goal and assist in the loss for Fairview. The Kings next game is October 11th at the Crosslink County Sportsplex vs the Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks. Gametime is 8pm the lounge is open every game and the bleachers are licenced.
