JDA Kings extend win streak

After four consecutive losses, the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings have responded with a three-game win streak.

Thursday, Kevin Henley scored twice and Lynden Dykens, Wyatt Lawrence and newcomer Tyrone Kipling scored in a 5-2 victory over the Sexsmith Vipers at the Crosslink County Sportsplex.Kings goaltender Jeremi Blais made 31 saves.

The Kings handed the Fairview Flyers their first regulation loss on the season on Saturday at home with a 4-1 victory. Kelsey Bauman, Joel Wamsteeker, Wyatt Lawrence and Donald Gaudreault had the goals and Blais made 27 saves.

Sunday, the Kings defeated the Beaverlodge Blades 12-1 in Beaverlodge.

Blais picked up the win again, as scheduled starter Keenan Hooper was ill.

Goals came from across the roster Sunday. Zach Bennett and Brock Clements had two each, and singles went to Wamsteeker, Henley, Gaudreault, Kipling, Jackson Rinne, Chase Allam, Cole Howse, and Keean McLeod,

The Kings travel to play the Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks on Friday and then host the North Peace Navigators at the Crosslink County Sportsplex on Saturday.
